When you are asked to speak as best man in a wedding, you will probably be asked to inject humor through jokes in your speech. Just tell it and get it over with.
And speaking of over, when you have told the joke and the audience doesn't laugh, just go on as if they did. When you expect the audience to laugh at your joke, you will soon find that either the laughs are tepid or that the joke is on you.
