What Colour Prom Dress to Choose For Prom 2010?

The style choices for the 2010 prom year are by now quite clear. There's the classic Princess Gown; strapless, nipped in at the waist and A-line to the floor. The Slinky; really suits a hour glass figure hugging the body at the waist, gathering in around the knees and fanning out in a fish tail to the floor and the current favourite - the Short and Flirty; a take on the princess gown, but as the name suggests, way above the knee line!

So once you've selected your style - what about the colour? The obvious thing to say is that it all depends on your own hair and eye colour and Prom Night is not the time to abandon the fashion principles you've worked to all these years! If green was never your colour - it isn't going to be now!! However, as with high street fashion, there are key trends you can work with

The catwalk colours last autumn divided into two camps. Firstly, a range of pastel colours which are particularly suited the Princess Gown style. Top marks here go to Fuchsia and Yellow which really made an impact. The pastel pallet allows the designers to go to town on the detailing with diamante and beading clearly evident on the corset part of the dress. Lacing at the back was also a favourite device

The second colour trend went in completely the opposite direction with dark, bold colours on offer. Midnight Blue and Purple where both crowd pleasers and manufacturers reported that they had sold more black prom dresses than ever before. Unusual, as young prom goers tend to option the lighter colours that suit a young complexion...

This darker colour trend may follow in the wake of the more sophisticated and overtly sexy styles that have seen around for the past couple of years as finally the prom dress moves out of its heritage 'bridesmaid' zone and joins the ranks of the 'red carpet' for 2010

For the more adventurous prom goer there are choices outside of the classic block colours. A number of designers have introduced pattern and floral fabrics as bold alternatives. Typically the style of gown used to show these designs to best advantage is the floor length halter neck. There are some great black and white animal prints and bold geometrics. The florals use large images of flowers often set against stark white backgrounds. The advantage to these styles is that they are not classic prom and can easily be worn for other occasions be that a family summer wedding or dinner out with the man you met at your prom!

How to Choose Masquerade Ball Masks For Men

Masquerade ball masks are very beautiful and popular masks that people wear when they are attending a masquerade themed party or event such as a birthday, wedding, New Years Eve Ball, or prom. Many people think that because many masquerade masks have large feathers and decorative colors, that they are made more for women than men, and can be a bit feminine. In this article I will show you a few good reasons why masquerade masks for men can cover a wide range, from the very basic to the very extravagant, and I will also give you a few quick tips on how to choose a great masquerade mask for a man!

First of all, there are many different versions of masquerade masks that you can choose from. There are plastic masks, which are inexpensive, but the quality suffers as well, and if you plan on looking great at your masquerade ball then a plastic mask is not right for you. Then, there are paper mache, venetian style masks. These are usually painted in various colors and designs, and are molded in several different traditional shapes that date back to the middle ages in Venice, Italy. While these can be good quality and look good, they are sometimes in odd styles, they can be a bit heavy, and not so comfortable to wear. Still, they can be a good choice for a man who wants a classical style of mask.

The best choice for a mens masquerade ball mask in terms of comfort and style are authentic fabric masks. These are generally the best quality, look the best, and are the most comfortable because they are lightweight, flexible, and have a soft backing for the face. These are highly recommended, just beware of knockoffs and only buy from a reputable company!

Masquerade masks for men can have no decoration at all and just be one solid color, or they can be painted and lightly decorated with some trim or very few jewels. If you want to stand out and get noticed in your mask, you can also choose to wear a mask that features large feathers and lots of decoration. This is fine, as long as the mask is in a masculine shape, you will still come off very masculine and look amazing as well!

Keep these points in mind, and you will be sure to find a great mens masquerade mask for yourself!

Beach Wedding Dresses - How to Choose a Dazzling Beach Wedding Dress

Beach weddings are gaining popularity, with it more and more brides to be are having trouble finding the right bridal wear for their big day at the beach. The traditional wedding dresses just won't do in this more natural setting. Finding a dress that works can present some challenges for the bride to be.

You will probably give up your idea of being a Disney princess in a perfect Cinderella dress. You just can't wear those at the beach. You won't certainly look good at the end of the ceremony. The sea breeze and the beach environment just aren't hospitable for such a formal gown.

Simple designs are the way to go when doing a beach wedding. You can't very well wear a long flowing white wedding dress across the sand, it would ruin the dress and with it your perfect beach wedding experience. Great beach wedding attires are casual, relaxed, sexy, cool and beautiful it should also still have an inherent elegance to it. A white satin strapless dress is one such example. Other materials for great dresses are chiffon, crepe, georgette, organza, cotton and charmeuse. You should avoid wearing silk since silk isn't a breathable fabric.

The bridal entourage too should be dressed in similar attires. The bridesmaids could be given dresses of similar make and cut. The colors could be of the lighter hues such as white, cream or light pink. These colors are more appropriate for such a venue. Another idea is to have them wear short identical prom dresses. You can also have them fitted for dresses made especially for the occasion. This saves time in searching for that perfect design.

The sea breeze should really be taken into consideration. This should dictate the cut of the dress. Longer dresses tend to wave around in the wind and this could present some issues, so the best cut should be short. Slip dresses employing a straight-line design behaves better than fuller skirts. If you do decide to have a flowing dress, have it long. A simple strapless flared skirt is a possibility. To break the color up, you can add a little something blue for luck. This additional color won't clash with the overall color theme since it matches the ocean.

A veil maybe a nice addition to the dress but it really isn't that practical. The veil will tend to flap around in the wind. You may even lose it to the wind completely, might as well leave the veils for the ones doing traditional weddings.

You may want to wear a wide brimmed hat to complete the beach look. You may also try and add a flower to your hair. Make sure though that these are secured by pins. You don't want them flying off during the "I do."s.

You shouldn't wear constricting high heels. You should wear sandals or go barefoot instead. Remember, the overall theme of a beach wedding is being free of the traditional. You should be casual and comfortable, instead of stiff and reserved.

Although the atmostphere and location is more casual and simple than other wedding themes, there are still many ways to turn simple Beach Wedding Dresses [http://www.creativeweddingideas.org/beach-wedding-dresses.html] into a charming wedding gown. The key is to incorporate some Creative Wedding Ideas [http://www.creativeweddingideas.org] to the wedding. Sometimes, the beauty lies in its simplicity and pureness.

How to Choose a Dress Shirt Collar

While it might occasionally seem that the collar is not a terribly important part of a tailored dress shirt, the fact of the matter is that a collar can make or break a shirt. The collar is not only a part of your shirt; it helps to frame your face. If the collar is wrong it can drastically alter your appearance from what you desire.

Types of Collars

Straight Collar - The straight collar is the most basic type of collar found in tailored dress shirts. It spreads out at a diagonal beneath your chin and there is a gap of about 2 ½ to 3 inches between the ends. For the average man this will suit their body type and face fine. The spread is small enough that it is acceptable to not wear a tie.

Spread Collar - A spread collar is a collar with a wider spread than that found on the straight collar. Anything over 3 inches is considered a spread collar: spreads can go up to about 6 inches. Generally speaking, men with wider or rounder faces should avoid spread collars as it will accentuate this wideness or roundness of face.

Button-down Collar

As the name implies, a button-down collar is a collar which buttons to your shirt. The spread can vary, just as with non-button collars. It is generally considered to be a less formal tie. For more formal occasions a non-button tie with collar studs would be more appropriate.

Tab Collar

The tab collar has a very slim spread. It gets its name because behind the tie knot there is a tab which is used to bring the collar edges together right behind the tie knot.. This tends to press out the tie knot and make the tie a bit more prominent than with other collars. Slender men, men with long necks as well as wide faced men often do well with tab collars on their tailored dress shirts.

Rounded or Club Collar

The rounded collar, also known as the club collar, is the most distinctive of the collar types. While most collars have straight edges, the edges of a rounded collar are rounded, as the name implies. Generally the spread is very small, and has a somewhat stubby look to it.

Pinned Collar

A pinned collar is so named because a pin is used to bring the two sides of the collar together. The pin can be changed, thus providing a bit of variety with the collar. The pin is generally attached along with the tie knot, which makes the tie more prominent in a similar way to the tab collar.

Choosing the right Collar for You

When choosing a collar, you want to pick one that not only makes your shirt look good but will also make your face look good. As mentioned in discussing the types of collars, different collars will go differently with different faces. However these are only rules of thumb, and do not always apply. Try several different collars out, and see which type you think best suits your face. Also look at how formal you need to be. For formal situations a more formal collar such as the rounded or pinned collar may be required.
